Guys, I just got back from the MOST INSANE day at VinWonders Phú Quốc, and I literally have to tell you everything before I explode! This place is absolute madness (in the best way possible)! 🤩

Getting There: The Adventure Begins
So after lounging on Phú Quốc's gorgeous beaches for a couple of days, I decided to spice things up with some theme park action. VinWonders is about 33km from the airport and 20km from Duong Dong town. I grabbed a taxi, but if you're staying at any Vinpearl resort, they have these free VinBus shuttles that'll take you right there. Super convenient!
First Impressions: Mind = Blown
Walking into VinWonders, I was like "whoa, am I still in Vietnam?" The place is MASSIVE with six different zones, and each one feels like you've teleported to another world. The park opens at 9:00 AM and closes at 7:30 PM, and trust me, you'll want every minute.
European Streetmosphere: Instant Vacation Vibes
I started in the European zone, which is basically like wandering through a medieval European town but with Vietnamese coffee shops (best of both worlds, am I right?). The architecture is gorgeous, and it's a perfect spot for those "making everyone jealous on Instagram" photos.
Thrill Rides: Where I Almost Lost My Lunch (Worth It!)
Listen, if you're an adrenaline junkie like me, head straight to Adventure World. I'm still shaking thinking about the Wrath of Zeus roller coaster. This beast climbs 50 meters high and hits speeds of 110 km/h! I may have screamed some words my mother wouldn't approve of.
The Icarus Race literally shoots you 50 meters into the sky before dropping you back down. I'm pretty sure I left my stomach somewhere in the clouds.
Pro tip: Do the Xibalba Drop BEFORE lunch. This 16-meter free-fall tower is wild, and I saw some regretful faces from people who had just eaten.
And then there's Nemesis Spin, which flips you 360 degrees CONTINUOUSLY. I was still feeling dizzy an hour later, but couldn't stop grinning.
My absolute favorite had to be the Ipanema Skate Ride, a crazy roller coaster with two 30-meter vertical drops. It's like skateboarding on steroids!
Cooling Off at Typhoon World
After nearly melting in the Vietnamese heat (and from all the screaming), I headed to Typhoon World. Guys, this is Southeast Asia's LARGEST water park! The Tsunami Pool is perfect for just floating around, but the Giant Python Struggle Slide had me both terrified and begging to go again.
Quick tip: Bring a change of clothes or wear your swimsuit under your outfit. The lockers cost a bit extra, but totally worth not walking around soggy all day.
The Sea Shell Aquarium: Unexpected Highlight
Okay, I didn't expect an aquarium to be one of my favorite parts, but this place is INCREDIBLE. The whole building is shaped like a massive turtle (how cool is that?), and it's one of the five largest aquariums in the world!
There are five different themed areas inside: Wandering Sea, Ocean Treasure, Ice Palace, Giant Kingdom, and Shark Realm. Walking through the underwater tunnels with sharks swimming overhead was both terrifying and magical.
The Once Show: Actually Worth Planning Around
Usually, I skip the shows at theme parks (come on, we're here for the rides!), but the Once Show at Fire Phoenix Square is LEGIT. It runs from 6:45 PM to 7:05 PM daily, and follows this hero battling a wicked witch for some magical phoenix quill. The costumes, the effects, the performances - all top-notch. Plan to be there around 6:30 PM to get a good spot.
Food Situation: Better Than Expected
Theme park food is usually meh, but I was pleasantly surprised here. There are options from quick bites to full meals across all zones. The European zone has some great coffee shops, and you can find everything from Vietnamese classics to international options. Not cheap, but not outrageous either.
Tips From Someone Who Did It Wrong First
Arrive early! I got there around 11 AM and regretted those lost morning hours.
Sunscreen, sunscreen, SUNSCREEN. The Vietnamese sun is no joke.
Wear comfortable shoes. My step counter nearly exploded by the end of the day.
Consider the Phu Quoc Passport combo ticket if you're planning to visit other attractions around the island.
Download the park map on your phone before going. The place is huge and you don't want to waste time getting lost.
Bring a portable charger - you'll be taking a million photos and videos.
My Day at VinWonders Phú Quốc: Worth Every Dong
Honestly, VinWonders Phú Quốc was the highlight of my Vietnam trip. It's this perfect mix of thrills, relaxation, and unique experiences that you just can't find anywhere else.
Whether you're traveling with friends, family, or solo, this place has something for everyone. Just prepare to be exhausted in the best possible way by the end of it!
Now I'm just trying to figure out how soon I can go back to try the rides I missed.
Anyone want to join? 😜
